Syn Free beef Stroganoff has never did not produce clear plates for the entire family and may be a recipe I often make, because it is so flavoursome and goes well with almost anything.

Traditional beef Stroganoff served with egg paste noodles. Here I’m serving it with rice, although it might be great with syn-free chips too if that is what you favor .

To keep this syn free, I used yogurt, but if you’ve got some syn you’ll also use low fat cheese . I make this both ways, counting on what percentage syncs I even have for the day and it tastes even as good.

Don’t forget to require the yogurt out of the fridge a couple of hours before cooking in order that it reaches temperature if you’re using yogurt. I find this helps prevent them from breaking when adding them to sauces.

  • Spray on oil

  • 400g lean tenderloin or lean beefsteak , thinly sliced
  • 1 large onion, halved and thinly sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves, puree
  • 10 button mushrooms, thinly sliced
  • 400ml of beef stock
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chopped thyme (or use 1 teaspoon dry)
  • salt and pepper to flavor
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • approx. 6 tablespoons natural fat-free yogurt / fromage frais (remove from refrigerator a couple of hours before cooking to room temperature)


  1. Heat a non-stick skillet and lightly spray with oil, add the meat tenderloin, season with salt and pepper, and cook until they begin to show golden. Remove and put aside .
  2. Add thyme to beef broth .
  3. Add the onion, garlic and mushrooms and a couple of tablespoons of broth to the pan and permit it to cook over high heat until golden, because the broth is reduced keep adding more, repeat the method until only 1/4 of the stock remains. and therefore the onions and mushrooms are well caramelized.
  4. Return the meat tenderloin to the skillet along side the remaining stock and a touch Worcester sauce , balsamic vinegar, tomato puree, paprika, and mustard. Simmer until the sauce is nearly reduced, remove from heat and stir within the yogurt.
  5. Serve with freshly cut Italian parsley topping.
  6. This meal are often served with rice, pasta or potatoes for Extra Easy days, or served with cauli rice of your choice or vegetables of your choice of pace for Original days.
